MMA Accomplishments

In addition to responding to daily calls from our members, the Association in 2010:

Monitored all aspects of the federal health reform law and reported regularly to members on its progress.
Prepared our biannual Legislative Summary of all legislation affecting Maine physicians.
Increased membership in MMA for the 18th straight year!
Continued discount programs for collections, merchant banking, office supplies, and payroll processing. These programs are saving MMA members real dollars - frequently more than the cost of dues! (See the entire list of Corporate Affiliates)
Continued our coding/reimbursement consultation program, allowing member access to professional coding advice on a daily basis free of charge through The Coding Center.
Published six issues of Maine Medicine, informing members of the legal, legislative, and regulatory news they need to operate their practices.
Published our weekly electronic newsletter entitled Maine Medicine Weekly Update that informs members and their office managers of relevant information relating to that week.
Held our 19th Annual Physicians' Education Program for physicians and office managers.
Reviewed employment contracts and managed care provider agreements for members.
Held a successful Annual Meeting with more than 250 attendees.
Presented monthly webinars through the First Friday educational series.
