MMET A donation to the Maine Medical Education Trust (MMET) would be used to create, promote, sponsor and organize programs whose primary objectives are the improvement and upgrading of medical practice through education and training in the field of health care The MMET is accredited by the Maine Medical Association Committee on Continuing Medical Education and Accreditation as a sponsor of CME programs and is a 501 (c) (3) so donations are tax deductible.
MMEF The Maine Medical Education Foundation (MMEF) Loan Program was created to make loans available to Maine residents enrolled in or accepted to approved medical schools. Over $4 million has been loaned to deserving medical students. Students have flexibility in when the re-pay and the interest rates are very low. A donation to this fund will be used to secure future loans for Maine students pursuing a degree in medicine.
MPHP The Medical Professionals Health Program (MPHP) is the recipient of donations to the John C. Dalco Fund, named in honor of the program’s first medical director. The John Dalco Memorial Fund was originally established as a scholarship fund to be used solely for supporting impaired professionals in the State of Maine. This program has evolved over the years to include other medical professionals – including osteopathic physicians, dentists, dental hygienists, nurses and pharmacists. A donation to this fund will provide assistance to those pursuing treatment through this program.
Long Term Development Fund Increases the reserves of the Maine Medical Association and ensure it will remain as a resource and advocate for future generations of physicians (not tax deductible)
Unrestricted A donation identified as unrestricted will be used for programs and initiatives as needed and determined by the Maine Medical Association leadership. (not tax deductible)
