Student Loans

The Maine Medical Education Trust (MMET) was established by the Maine Medical Association and within it is the Dr. Melvin Bacon Fund. Dr. Bacon, now deceased, practiced medicine in York County, Maine for many years. He was especially interested in helping Maine students pursue a career in the health field. This fund, set up by the family in his name, is to provide an annual $1000 scholarship to a Maine resident enrolled in an allopathic medical school. Preference is given to York County residents.
