Urgent Care Physician - South Portland, ME

AFC Urgent Care is hiring for an Urgent Care Physician in South Portland, ME.  The incoming Physician will perform a fundamental role in the development of this new practice.  The AFC Clinic in South Portland will open in Spring 2019 and be the first to open in Maine, in a brand-new state-of-the-art building. The incoming Physician will partner with the Medical Director and will be supported by a team of medical professionals onsite.  

Practice Need:

  • An Emergency Medicine or Family Practice Physician to provide urgent medical care for the community of South Portland and Cape Elizabeth

Primary Care Physician – Family Practice

The Primary Care Physician provides the full scope of primary care services commensurate with his/her field of training and State of Maine licensure; duties include, but not limited to, diagnosis, treatment, coordinator of care, preventative care and provision of health maintenance services to patients of all or applicable life cycles.

Qualifications include:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in the practice of family or internal medicine required
  • Clear understanding of and commitment to the health center’s mission.
  • Knowledge of health problems and disparities affecting homeless and other low-income persons. Work effectively with culturally and economically diverse population. 
  • Electronic Medical Records experience, and Microsoft Windows/Microsoft office experience required.
  • Graduate of an accredited medical school and completion of residency in Family Practice or Med/Peds.
  • Current State of Maine Medical license.
  • Current D.E.A. certificate
  • Board eligibility or Board Certified in applicable discipline is desired.
  • Demonstrate insurability under Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA)
  • Maintain current CPR

Kennebec Anesthesia Associates PA seeks an Anesthesiologist to work in Augusta and Waterville, Maine. The Anesthesiologist is responsible for administering and overseeing the administration of anesthetics during surgical, endoscopic, and radiological procedures. The Anesthesiologist provides analgesic services to obstetric patients, surgical patients, and medical patients with acute pain problems and provides advanced life supporting treatments in support of providers in the intensive care unit and emergency departments. The Anesthesiologist is responsible for the preoperative evaluation and assessment of perioperative risk, preoperative preparation of the patient for anesthesia, monitoring and treating patients before, during, and after anesthesia and treating adverse reactions or complications intraoperatively and postoperatively. The Anesthesiologist decides when patients have recovered or stabilized enough to be sent to another room or ward or to be sent home following outpatient surgery; coordinates administration of anesthetics with surgeons during operations; confers with other medical professionals to determine type and method of anesthetic or sedation to render patient insensible to pain; and coordinates and directs work of nurses, medical technicians, and other health care providers. The minimum experience and educational requirements for this position are a M.D. or D.O. degree; State of Maine Medical License; and immediate eligibility for Board certification in anesthesiology.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Nasson Health Care

Nasson Health Care is seeking a qualified clinical leader to work collaboratively with a team of health and administrative professionals to provide comprehensive primary care to patients while utilizing the Patient-Centered Medical Home model of care delivery.  The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner:

  • Provides diagnoses, conducts therapy and prescribes medication for patients with substance use disorder, psychiatric disorders and medical organic brain disorders.
  • Assures access for continuity of care through appropriate referrals for sub-specialty and inpatient services and prompt follow-up of patients discharged from inpatient settings.

Applicants must have a Master’s degree in nursing, an unrestricted Maine license to practice as an advance practice nurse practitioner, Board Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner as well as a U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency license.  Qualifications include:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a psychiatric or primary care medical practice required.
  • A working knowledge of the core concepts of evidence-based practice, social and behavioral determinants of health, population-based care, integration of medical, behavioral health and dental care, and Meaningful Use of health information technology.
  • Willingness to work some non-traditional hours and ability to travel between YCCAC/Nasson Health Care clinical sites.

Franklin Health Internal Medicine is an office based Internal Medicine practice tucked in the beautiful western mountains of Maine, and owned by Franklin Memorial Hospital, a member of Maine Health. FH Internal Medicine provides office based adult medicine services and preventive and diagnostic cardiovascular services and serves a population of approximately 40,000.

FHIM providers average 15 to 18 patients with ages ranging from 18 to end-of –life. Expectation is 36 hours a week with 32 patient contact hours. The office is located on the Franklin Memorial Hospital campus, a 65-bed, acute care community hospital with a 40-member medical staff.  In addition to an annual base salary, physicians are offered significant additional income potential, as well as student loan repayment and relocation assistance.
