Chief and Medical Director of OB/GYN at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center

Description:

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is actively seeking a transformational OB/GYN or Maternal Fetal Medicine physician leader to guide the evolution of our women’s health services, in partnership with our associate vice president.

Our multi-disciplinary team is comprised of nine physicians, two certified nurse midwives, two nurse practitioners and skilled support staff.

The ideal candidate will bring established expertise in obstetrics (preferably high-risk) and leadership and will utilize an inclusive approach to include our private practitioners, family medicine residents and faculty, midwives and student, with an emphasis on education across the entire care team.

Our modern facilities include a recently redesigned Women & Infants unit including twenty-five private patient rooms, six new labor and delivery rooms, and two new state-of-the-art obstetrics/gynecology surgical suites to complement the level of expertise found at our medical center, as well as a new state-of-the-art Level III NICU with 29 private family suites. Our office is located on the main hospital campus allowing for efficient workflow between the office, operating rooms, and Labor & Delivery.

Medical Director - Women's Health Opportunity in Beautiful Portland, Maine!

Northern Light Mercy Hospital seeks a Medical Director to lead its Women's Health programs. Northern Light Mercy Hospital is proud of its great culture and collaborative team environment. Our newly renovated and expanded hospital campus is located on the shores of the Fore River.

Expectations of Medical Director include:

  • Energetically lead a team of top-notch providers and staff in Women's Health practices including OB/GYN, midwifery, neonatology, labor and delivery, and breast care;
  • Employ program development acumen;
  • Collaboratively develop and implement quality improvement goals and measures;
  • Serve as a strategic-thinking member of Mercy's leadership team and participate in the Women's Health service line at the Northern Light Health system level;

Candidates for this position:

  • Must be Board Certified in OB/GYN and eligible for licensure in Maine;
  • Will have 7-10 years of experience, including 3-5 years in a leadership capacity;
  • Should possess strong clinical, managerial, and leadership skills;
  • Robotic surgery experience preferred.

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center’s Family Medicine Residency program is seeking a BC/BE, Full-Spectrum with OB Family Medicine Physician to join our dynamic faculty in Bangor, Maine!

We offer a full-spectrum FM curriculum including excellent inpatient and outpatient experience in both obstetrics and pediatrics, a range of specialty clinics, and unique elective rotation opportunities. Our team includes 11 faculty family physicians, BC pediatrician, pharmacist, an FNP and an LCSW integrated behavioral health model. Our faculty have a small clinical practice and devote majority of time to teaching residents and pursuing a range of diverse interests.
